A case of double standards

Letter July 18, 2012
Punjab is suffering through some bad times in the form of a very bad law and order situation under PML-N govt.

LAHORE: According to a report, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that corrupt and incapable rulers had pushed the nation into darkness and that in order to bring back the country from darkness it was essential to put an end to the culture of favouritism, nepotism and corruption.

With this in mind, I would like to ask the chief minister why he has appointed a completely unqualified and illiterate person as a special assistant on education (as per reports in the press). While on the one hand, he claims to uphold merit, on the other, he is the one not abiding by his own principles. Is the appointment of an adviser by the chief minister to assist him on the very important matter of education not a violation of rules and regulations? The people of Punjab are suffering through some bad times in the form of a very bad law and order situation under the PML-N government.
