I would suggest that fines on such vehicles should be raised significantly and pressure horns should be confiscated.
LAHORE: This is with reference to the news item “Noisy, smoke emitting vehicles: Get ready for inspections, fines” (July 3). This is a welcome move and I urge the authorities concerned to also depute a team at Thokar Niaz Baig in Lahore. Three major roads — the Multan Road, the Canal Road and the Raiwind Road — merge here and one comes across numerous smoke emitting, noisy vehicles. As a resident of this area, the constant noise and air pollution often keeps my family awake. In fact, I would suggest that the fines on such vehicles should be raised significantly and pressure horns should be confiscated.
