NADRA has not used this technology in a competent manner.
KARACHI: At the turn of the century, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) came into being and launched the multi-biometric national identity cards. However, NADRA has not used this technology in a competent manner.
I realised this recently when two of my acquaintances, who are twins, applied for their CNICs and their application was rejected during the verification and clearance process on the basis of a ridiculous objection which stated: “unnatural age difference between two twins”. I would request the NADRA authorities to please rectify such errors in their system immediately, as obtaining or renewing one’s CNIC is already quite a tedious task.
