A community no one cares about

Letter June 22, 2012
Clerics have been spewing hatred about various communities and sizable section of population blindly follows them.

CALGARY, CANADA: This is with reference to your editorial “A community no one cares about” (June 17). It is terrible to learn that Pakistanis have stooped to such a level where their thinking has forced them to consider digging people out of their graves.

Clerics have been spewing hatred about various communities and a sizable section of the population blindly follows such clerics, while those who do not agree with this hate-mongering silently watch what is happening. It is time Pakistanis started thinking about where the country is headed. Today, it is the Ahmadis that are being targeted; tomorrow, this hatred may be directed at other communities, too. This also showcases the level of involvement, or the lack of it, of the Pakistani public in working towards a better Pakistan.
