A judicial coup?

Letter June 20, 2012
Chief justice is still chief justice; he is not president, chief executive, martial law administrator or dark knight.

KARACHI: This is with reference to your editorial “A judicial coup?” (June 20). A ‘coup’ involves usurping someone else’s power. The chief justice is still the chief justice; he is not the president, chief executive, martial law administrator or the dark knight.

Therefore, this decree by the Supreme Court to declare Yousaf Raza Gilani disqualified from his post of prime minister cannot in any way be termed a coup.
