Power breakdowns, lawlessness, extortion rackets, kidnappings do not affect those who do not reside in Pakistan.
LAHORE: Pakistanis need to take a firm decision that they will not allow any politician who does not consider this country worth living in for themselves, or for their children, to decide the fate of this country. All of General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s children are foreign nationals. An individual like him should never have been trusted with the critical assignment of holding the command of our armed forces. Had this mistake not been committed, the lives of Pakistanis would not have become as miserable as they have become because of Musharraf and his successors.
This refers to people who owe all their fortune to Pakistan. Yet, they abandoned it by pledging loyalty to another country. Those who are willing to come to Pakistan only if they are in power have no right to hold public office. It is because of such men that Pakistan has become a haven for the corrupt.
If a Pakistani decides to pledge his oath of loyalty to another country, he has no moral or legal right to hold an elected or nominated public office. The crippling power breakdowns, lawlessness, extortion rackets and kidnappings for ransom do not affect those whose families do not reside in Pakistan.
