Why are the people who killed our soldiers and the police being rewarded with huge amounts of free land?
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to Dr Pervez Hoodbhoy’s article of May 21 titled “Lal Masjid: rewarding an insurrection”. Why are the people who killed our soldiers and the police being rewarded with huge amounts of free land? Is this the reward given to others who kill our soldiers in the name of religion? What sort of message is this sending to the people in our society? That you can raise arms against the state, kill our soldiers and then you will be rewarded and applauded for your efforts?
What sort of a society are we aspiring to become, where those who violently defy the state are the ones upon whom the state bestows the most financial benefits?
