Those who are attempting to turn this war on terror into a war on religion are falling victim to conspiracy theories.
TAMPA, FL, US: This is with respect to the letter of May 18 titled “Taliban apologists” by Jawadur Rehman. People must realise that the war is against them, the US, or anyone who dares take a stand against the evil ideology of the terrorists.
It’s our shared will and desire to defeat terrorism that continues to bind us together. Those who are attempting to turn this war on terror into a war on religion are only falling victim to conspiracy theories. And let’s not forget, we have many Muslim nations fighting alongside us in this war on terror.
It is a fact that terrorist organisations like the TTP are responsible for the killings of thousands of people in Pakistan alone. And those who are oblivious to this fact can see how conspiracy theories are plaguing their thinking. Both Pakistan and the US have made a lot of sacrifices and lost thousands of brave soldiers in fighting these terrorists. No two other nations could understand each other’s sacrifices more. You still see our governments working hard to overcome our differences and create a better working relationship. That would not have been the case if the US viewed Pakistan as an enemy.
We look forward to working side by side with Pakistan in bringing peace and stability to the region.
