It is ironic that Pakistan’s leaders visit China but they never try to learn the secret behind that nation’s success.
UNIVERSITY OF KARACHI: According to reports, President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Pakistan needs to learn from China. I think the president should also advise our politicians to become honest like China’s political leaders, especially since not a single Chinese leader has ever been found owning property outside of his or her country. The Chinese government does not allow the establishment of religious schools and madrassas and the country’s leaders are committed to the welfare of their citizens.
It is ironic that Pakistan’s leaders visit China frequently but they never try to learn the secret behind that nation’s success. They have never tried to apply Chinese policies and working methodologies to Pakistan, such as how China successfully controlled its population growth. Also, in China, women work alongside men without any gender discrimination.
China uses its natural resources to improve the quality of life of its citizens and is currently meeting as much as 80 per cent of its energy requirement from coal. In Pakistan, we have massive coal reserves but have yet to explore them. Also, no feudal dictates policies in China and I don’t need to tell readers what happens in the case of Pakistan.
