A nation abandoned

Letter May 12, 2012
Why do you and your colleagues in the electronic media then cry foul when these very Taliban are hit by drones?

LONDON: This is with reference to Talat Hussain’s article on May 12 titled “A nation abandoned”. The writer says: “The Taliban militants chop off the heads of soldiers and it is business as usual. They shoot down an assistant political agent in his office and nobody is bothered. They ambush, kill, kidnap, murder, terrorise vast neighbourhoods, break into jails and release hundreds of inmates and nothing happens.”

Since Mr Hussain has said this, I would like to then ask him is the war on terror not our war? Why do you and your colleagues in the electronic media then cry foul when these very Taliban are hit by drones, or when the world demands that we ‘do more’?
