KARACHI: The Jinnah flyover which is located over Port Grand in Karachi has been the scene of several accidents in the recent past. The main reason behind these accidents is the roundabout that is located on the flyover, which connects four major roads of Karachi, including the MT Khan Road, Native Jetty Road, MA Jinnah road and Mauripur Road. With heavy traffic converging on the roundabout from all four sides, it has become a very difficult task to avoid serious accidents.
I, myself have barely avoided being involved in accidents on the flyover twice. But there have been many who have not been as lucky and every week, there are at least two accidents reported in the area in which people have lost lives. The government needs to look into the matter urgently before more serious accidents occur.
