The government has taken no necessary step in order to deal with the problem of drainage.
KARACHI: Irrespective of the fact that weather forecasts have already given signals for heavy rainfall in Karachi, it seems that the government has taken no necessary step in order to deal with the problem of drainage that will surely arise in case of rain. The state of Karachi’s roads after even mild rain is a testimony to mismanagement and inefficiency. In many areas, there is no way for the rainwater to be drained away, mainly because drains have been encroached upon by commercial establishments.
The actual monsoon months are still some time away so there is still time for the authorities to make amends. The only problem is that who will ensure that they get their act together.
