KARACHI: With the start of every new academic year, the managements of Karachi’s private schools increase the tuition fees, with the increase being as high as 15 to 20 per cent at times. It seems that school authorities are not concerned with the rules and regulations formulated by the provincial education ministry for private schools. They also do not realise the agony of middle-income parents who, in addition to the tuition fees, also have to buy books, uniforms and other related items for their children.
The directorate of private institutions needs to keep a watchful eye on this unlawful rise in fees. I hope that the relevant authorities take some steps to bring succour to overburdened parents and for the sake of promotion of education in the province.
