MELBOURNE: In his article, Mr Ejaz Haider has made use of over-analysed rhetoric coupled with the use of difficult sounding words and peripheral commentary on the Bannu jailbreak incident. All that the writer has stated can be summarised in a very few words.
The Pakistani state and its intelligence agencies are yet to wake up from their deep slumber and see how decades-old terrorist, sectarian and nationalist movements have the potential to disintegrate the country. Until and unless the government, the opposition, the military and its intelligence agencies acknowledge the mess we are in, publicly announcing a unified strategy to divorce all of our ‘strategic assets’ involved in terrorism and sectarian killings, and open up a dialogue with Baloch separatists, we will be witnesses to a nation breaking up sooner rather than later.
