Setting the record straight

Letter April 02, 2012
At no time while serving as the principal economic adviser to MoF was I performing any consultancy services for CSF.

ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to the story appearing in your newspaper “Competitive Support Fund: Pakistan to terminate joint venture with the US” (March 28). Since the said story contained my name as a consultant to the Competitive Support Fund (CSF) and claimed that I had been “hired for 144 days at $57,600”, I would like to place the following facts on record.

I signed a one-year consultancy contract with the CSF in June 2009, before joining the Ministry of Finance (MoF). I provided consultancy services to the CSF for one month, before disengaging from the contract after joining the MoF in August 2009. I claimed my fee that amounted to $3,125, in January 2011, after leaving the MoF.

At no time while serving as the principal economic adviser to MoF was I performing any consultancy services for the CSF.
