Karachiites who are in the habit of taking morning walks should carry garbage bags with them and pick up the trash.
KARACHI: A sad practice, witnessed often in Karachi is that while travelling, people do not take the trouble to step out of the comfort of their cars in order to throw trash and instead, prefer to throw it out on the road. The result of this boorish behaviour is a very dirty city.
There are two solutions to this problem. I have noticed that trash cans are not placed in public places during the winter months so the concerned authorities should place these all over the city throughout the year. This will provide the people of Karachi more places for dumping their trash.
Secondly, those Karachiites who are in the habit of taking morning walks should carry garbage bags with them and pick up the trash they come across during their walks. Also, it will help a great deal if all the residents of this great city made an effort to throw their litter in garbage cans instead of littering our roads and parks.
