When one joins the army, one is supposed to be ready for fighting insurgencies.
PESHAWAR: The Indian political class is more corrupt than Pakistan’s but there is no room in India for military generals to behave like the rulers of Pakistan. When one joins the army, one is supposed to be ready for fighting insurgencies or external threats. This is what the army is paid to do. The Indian army has also been fighting insurgencies for the last 20 years in different parts of India, but one never hears any Indian general emotionally blackmailing his countrymen to avoid criticism.
