ABBOTTABAD: Asghar Khan’s petition that is presently being heard in the Supreme Court is an opportunity to clearly define the role of intelligence agencies and to hold them accountable for their actions. The nation awaits the course that will be defined by the Supreme Court and parliament. However, it is also important that General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani listens to calls for reform and not label criticism aimed at the military establishment as ‘demoralising’, or else we will lose a unique opportunity to change entrenched mindsets, as well as our destiny.
