LAHORE: After the Mumbai attacks, a new requirement has come into effect for all Pakistani visa applicants. This is not only for those who are applying to visit relatives but even those who wish to travel for a conference or business purposes need to fulfil the following requirement: As of 2011, all applicants from Pakistan have to get a sponsorship certificate filled by their hosts in India — even if this happens to be a business or an NGO — and this will have to be done by a senior government official. I would, for sure, agree with Mr Zakaria.
