RAWALPINDI: The concern expressed by Nasim Zehra, it seems, is misplaced. The apex court sought these assurances from the government given the current situation and the tensions between the civilians and the men in khaki. Had the two generals been dismissed by the government, it could well have created a situation not unlike 1999 when then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif saw it fit to sack the army chief, who was at the time out of the country on an official visit to Sri Lanka.
