Merely saying that he [Mansoor Ijaz] will not appear since he is not a Pakistani citizen is not enough.
KARACHI: With reference to your report of January 20, I find it quite astonishing that Mansoor Ijaz is now saying that he does not have to respond to the parliamentary committee’s summons since he is not a citizen of Pakistan. The obvious question that comes to mind is that he has no qualms about appearing before the commission investigating memogate but had a problem with appearing before a committee formed by Pakistan’s parliament, for the same purpose. Would he, or his lawyer, kindly explain this contradiction? And no, merely saying that he will not appear since he is not a Pakistani citizen is not enough.
