Desperate times (II)

Letter January 09, 2012
Acute shortage of gas in Quetta has made life miserable in winter where temperature has fallen to minus 10.

QUETTA: I am a resident of Quetta, where for the past two days the temperature has fallen as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, our lives have been made all the more miserable by the acute shortage of gas, which in turn has meant that people are living without adequate heating in the winter. The government needs to act urgently on a war footing and at least during the very cold days, it should be ensured that there is no gas loadshedding. Or else, we could see lives being lost.
