Bigotry run amok (III)

Letter January 05, 2012
Why doesn’t the government take action against those who incite others around them to violence and murder?

KARACHI: We have two options. Either all progressive, moderate and just people leave this country and leave it at the mercy of the fanatics, or they stand up and resist them. Why doesn’t the government take action against those who incite others around them to violence and murder? The interior minister has been quoted as saying that these are people who are terrorists in the making. So, is the government going to wait for one of them to commit an act of violence and then take action? In any civilised society, people who did this would be hauled up in a court of law and sent to jail for incitement to violence.
