Why does the government and military allow such bigots and obscurantists to hold rallies in our major cities.
LAHORE: This is with reference to your report of January 4 titled “Qadri supporters offer Rs100m for ‘holy gun’”. I would like to ask the government and the military that why do they allow such bigots and obscurantists to hold rallies in our major cities, or anywhere at all. Why is their silence from both the government and the military establishment when such elements gather and by their speeches want to take Pakistani society back to the Dark Ages?
It is precisely because of the lack of reaction and the silence from the government and other important institutions of state, that such elements became emboldened in the first place.
