ISLAMABAD: I agree with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari that the PPP should strive for evolution, not revolution. Instead of idealistic visions of a revolution, we need evolutionary development so that democracy can seep into our political system. I am also agreed with the fact that had Benazir Bhutto been alive, we could have hoped for a much better future.
That said, the reality is that now the general public is very disillusioned of the PPP-led government’s performance. And it is asking a lot from ordinary Pakistanis to somehow keep faith with the party just because it was led in the past by people like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. The current PPP leadership cannot match those two giants and this is a reality that needs to be confronted.
