The announcement by the Sindh chief minister to declare a public holiday on December 27 is an unwise act.
OTTAWA, CANADA: The announcement by the Sindh chief minister to declare a public holiday on December 27 is an unwise act since the province already suffers from relatively low literacy, and has one of the highest dropout rates in the world. According to one report, almost 70 per cent of Sindh’s schools are either non-operational or in a very dilapidated condition. Why cannot the chief minister instead devote his and government’s energies to getting all these thousands of schools to work?
