India is on the path to prosperity, & this is in large part due to the fact that it has seen no military coups.
LAHORE: With reference to your editorial of December 23, one particular aspect of it is related to how democracy has developed over the years in India. India is a third world country and is not a developed nation yet. However, it is on the path to prosperity, and this is in large part due to the fact that its political system is one that is based on the regular holding of elections and because it has seen no military coups. While we are often quick to criticise India, perhaps in this matter we should try and emulate our eastern neighour.
