Pakistan to fight on its terms (II)

Letter December 19, 2011
We claim great friendship with China, yet if we lived in that country we would not be allowed to practice religion.

LONG BEACH, CA, US: To say that this is not our war is a fallacy and only those who are sympathetic to the Taliban will say so. The Taliban have done more damage to us than anyone else and we still think India is our enemy.

The Indians are made out to be our enemy so that we are forced to put money into the defence budget. We need to put money into our schools and hospitals first. There is no need to play a double game with the US. As for our relations with the Americans, we should be straightforward with them. This means telling them plainly what we will and will not do. Even China is just an ally when it suits its purpose. We claim great friendship with China and yet, little do we know that if we lived in that country we would not be allowed to practice our religion.
