Anyone who does not fall within the definition of a ‘good’ Muslim has no future in our society.
KARACHI: This is with reference to your report of November 22 titled “Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate goes unremembered”.
The fact of the matter is that anyone who does not fall within the definition of a ‘good’ Muslim has no future in our society. And I am not talking about atheists, agnostics, Ahmadis, Christians or Hindus only even Muslims who do not fall under the rigid definition of a ‘good Muslim’ will have their lives made miserable by the fanatics.
And the sad thing is that the rest of society does nothing to keep these lunatics under check and refuses to take a stand against them. This only emboldens them further and the result is that many extremists in Pakistani society take pride in their hate and intolerance. Many of them mistakenly think that persecuting those whose beliefs are not in line with their own will earn them passage to heaven.
