KUALA LUMPUR: Mr Kamran Shafi writes well but that is about it. His arguments against Imran Khan are naive and his tone disparaging. He keeps saying that Imran Khan has handlers behind him without realising that his real ‘handlers’ are the thousands of people flocking to his rallies.
Also, he is not selective in his crusade against corruption, as far as different organs of the state are concerned. When he talks about weeding out corruption, he means corruption everywhere, including the military as an institution. He is targeting politicians because they are the ones who could have eliminated or reduced the incidence of corruption. If he can criticise the launching of military operations in the tribal areas and the state’s policy on drone attacks, he can also take on the issue of corruption in the army, if that is indeed the case.
