I don’t see why the writer is trying to belittle the military and spare the politicians.
MILWAUKEE, WI, US: This is with reference to Kamran Shafi’s article of November 11 titled “Don’t knock politics”. I would beg to differ with the writer. Money spent on defence is essential, and cannot be reduced. We have a very hostile neighbour to our east which has yet to reconcile with the reality of Partition. As for our politicians, they have been involved in corrupt practices for years and they hardly pay any taxes. I don’t see why the writer is trying to belittle the military and spare the politicians.
