Imran Khan’s chances in KP

Letter November 12, 2011
Imran Khan needs to visit Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa if his party wants to win some seats from it.

CLOVIS, CA, US: Asad Munir’s article of November 12 titled “Prospects of Imran Khan in KP” is good but more analysis is needed for KP’s southern districts such as Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Bannu. These comprise around four National Assembly and 12 provincial assembly seats. Imran Khan should visit these districts and hold rallies there so that he can gain more voters. Also, it is being reported that the PTI chief will contest from the NA-24 seat, which means he may end up running against Maulana Fazlur Rahman. The Maulana, in all likelihood, will be a compromise candidate of his party and the ruling PPP so the contest, if it happens, could be an interesting one. In any case, Imran Khan needs to visit Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa if his party wants to win some seats from it.
