The public and the PPP

Letter October 29, 2011
Most of the promises that the PPP made at the time of the last election have either been forgotten or broken.

BALTIMORE, MD, US: Amina Jilani’s article of October 29 titled “The on-going tragedy” was excellent and very well written. The PPP that used to inspire and motivate ordinary Pakistanis has now become a laughing stock of the masses. The ‘leaders’ that are in charge of the party at present have, in all fairness, caused more damage to the PPP than any of its rivals could ever hope to do.

Most of the promises that the party made at the time of the last election have either been forgotten or broken. And people will remember this and it is likely that they will vote for another party at the next election. The only way that the party can hope to win the next election is if it delivers on its campaign pledges and provides some semblance of good governance.
