In times to come, more collaboration between the two countries can bring their people closer.
ISLAMABAD: This refers to Pervez Hoodbhoy’s article of October 27 titled “Deepening the Pakistan-India divide”.
The cultural gap between Pakistan and India is not that wide. Let us take films and music. Over a hundred Indian films have been legally released in our cinemas since 2006. Indian film music is aired on most FM stations. Atif Aslam is a household name in India , followed by Shafqat Amanat Ali and Ali Zafar. Four Pakistani films — Salakhein, Mohabataan Sachhian, Khuda Key Liaye and now Bol — have been commercially released in India.
In times to come, more collaboration between the two countries can bring their people closer. And there is plenty of goodwill from both sides to achieve that goal, notwithstanding irritants here and there.
