
There is talk that work on Diamer-Bhasha dam will begin soon but it needs to be taken up with seriousness of purpose.
KARACHI: The recent government decision to close all government offices two days of a week is not really going to help resolve the power crisis that has the national economy in its tight grip. Such a measure will at best save a miniscule amount of electricity and takes away from the actual kind of measures that are needed. At the top of these should be an initiative to build new dams in different parts of the country. There is talk that work on the Diamer-Bhasha dam will begin soon but this needs to be taken up with seriousness of purpose.
