Murder, by any other name (II)

Letter October 24, 2011
The violence against Hazara is being ignored by people because intolerance of ‘others’ is growing.

SOUTH LAKE, TX, US: The violence against Hazara is not being ignored by people in Lahore and Islamabad because it is too far away. It is being ignored because intolerance of ‘others’ is growing. After all, the 60 thugs who burst into a girls’ school with sticks and rods and beat up girls carried out their heinous deed in Rawalpindi. How many people protested that? When the Ahmadis were attacked in Lahore, how many people protested?

Distance is not the culprit, growing intolerance is.
