ISLAMABAD: Brigadier (r) Asad Munir’s piece is excellent. The truth is that a majority of Pakistanis love to talk about the regime of the Taliban in Afghanistan in glowing terms.
However, most of them would cringe with fear if faced with the prospect of a similar kind of rule in Pakistan. This would mean being forced to go to the mosque, to shut down their business at the time of prayers, not listen to music or see films and being forced to give up viewing the television and the internet. Most of these people are hypocrites and hold delusions of grandeur on matters regarding religion.
I have an even better idea: why not send all those who sympathise with the Taliban to Swat, and let the Taliban return to power there?
