May I ask why the ministry spent millions of taxpayers’ funds for an advertisement?
LAHORE: This is with reference to an advertisement that appeared in several national newspapers, including yours, on October 15. I am talking of a half-page advert placed by the Human Rights Division of the Government of Pakistan. It has a large photograph of Ms Fiza Batool Gillani, who is the daughter of the prime minister and a “goodwill ambassador” of the government. The occasion for placing the said ad is her visit to Lok Virsa in Islamabad.
May I ask why the ministry spent millions of taxpayers’ funds for an advertisement? Couldn’t she have been welcomed at Lok Virsa without spending all this money? I must say that the ad was in poor taste and reflects exactly what the government thinks about using public money.
