State of cricket

Letter October 14, 2011
While Butt has every right to focus or neglect his business, he did not have licence to damage cricket in the country.

FATEH JANG: The former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ijaz Butt, has said that the president of Pakistan had offered him an extension to continue in his post but that he declined because he wanted to devote some time to his personal business which had been suffering since he was spending all his time on the cricket post.

While Mr Butt has every right to focus or neglect his own business, he did not have a licence to inflict damage on the game of cricket in the country. Unfortunately, that is precisely what happened during the three years that he was in charge.
