Power not principle (II)

Letter September 24, 2011
We should stop killing one another, stop abusing each other, ensure citizens are given security of life and property.

ISLAMABAD: If we can, we should help not only our Muslim brothers but other oppressed ones as well — morally as well as physically. But are we in a position to do that? Is our own house in order before we start helping others? The answer to that is a straightforward no.

Before we go out of our way to help others, we should realise that first we need to help ourselves. We should stop killing one another, stop abusing each other and ensure that our citizens are given security of life and property. Also, a point of clarification: the ISI is an organ of the state and it is quite unlikely that its head would be acting independently.
