I was given a bill for Rs4,500 though my connection was non-functional during that time.
FREMONT, CA, US: I had a PTCL EVO connection. And it did not work when the company experienced a strike by its workers. This happened in the summer of 2010 and the strike lasted for almost a month. For an entire month, I kept calling the company’s helpline and I was told that it would be operational soon. I had paid Rs5,000 for the device and after the strike ended, I was given a bill for Rs4,500 though my connection was non-functional during that time.
I called the helpline to register my protest at being sent a bill while my service wasn’t working. I was told that I had signed up for the service and that the bill would have to be paid regardless of whether I was able to use it or not.
