Having engaged police, Rangers to conduct search operations, assign both arresting those who steal electricity.
KARACHI: After the brutal killings of more than hundred innocent Karachiites during the holy month of Ramazan, our federal and provincial governments finally woke up and began taking some measures to put an end to target killings in Karachi. Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that target or surgical search operations will have to be conducted and that they were underway in different parts of Karachi. He also said that the faces of the target killers would be shown to the nation on television after Eid.
I have a suggestion for the minister. Now that he has engaged the police and the Rangers to conduct search operations, why not assign both these agencies the task of also getting hold of people who are stealing electricity. According to reports, half of the electricity is stolen and this in turn could potentially result in a potential law and order situation.
