Murdered in America, born in Pakistan

Letter August 29, 2011
I agree with the writer that Pakistanis are generally treated well in the US.

KARACHI: This is with reference to Michael Kugelman’s article of August 26 titled “Murdered in America, born in Pakistan”. I agree with the writer that Pakistanis are generally treated well in the US. A personal example will suffice: The school where my sister’s kids attend, usually gives out sweets on a certain day of the week, and when my nephew told his teacher that he won’t be eating those sweets as they weren’t deemed to be halal, the teacher, for the subsequent week, changed the brand for the entire class. Need I say any more. And look at how we treat our minorities.
