The PPP’s campaign for a separate province, to some in Punjab, has near-racist overtones.
KARACHI: This is with reference to Ejaz Haider’s article of August 16 titled “More subas? — II”. The PML-N needs to wake up and see the reality around itself. From what one can tell, the PPP is trying to break Punjab into smaller provinces and the reason for this seems to be none other but to weaken Nawaz Sharif’s votebank. The PPP’s campaign for a separate province, to some in Punjab, has near-racist overtones but the PML-N is not even responding to it. If the issue is that more provinces would make administration easier, the ruling party should perhaps start making these changes in Sindh as well.
