Women and authority (II)

Letter August 14, 2011
The sad reality also is that such unfortunate acts are not only tolerated but also patronised.

KARACHI: The incident at the Nairang Gallery in Lahore is not the first of its kind. Rather, it is a continuation of a systematic policy now pursued by people in power to impose their way of life and thinking on those who believe in healthy social and political discourse. The sad reality also is that such unfortunate acts are not only tolerated but also patronised by vested interest groups. It is high time that the forces of darkness and retrogression are checked by the collective effort of those who want to see Pakistan moving forward.
