The severe water scarcity and irregular supply schedules are affecting various neighborhoods in Rawalpindi. So grave is the situation that households are forced to rely on expensive private water tankers because municipal taps remain dry for days. This crisis places an unbearable financial and physical burden on working-class families. Despite repeated complaints to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), the situation remains unchanged. The authorities must immediately overhaul the ageing distribution infrastructure, crack down on illegal water hydrants and ensure equitable water distribution across all localities in the city. Clean drinking water is a fundamental right, and prompt administrative action is long overdue.
