KARACHI:
While several colleges have officially been established across Makran, the reality on the ground in Turbat reveals a severe educational crisis. These institutions exist only on paper and are completely stripped of basic educational facilities. Classrooms remain empty, and teacher absenteeism is rampant. Teachers routinely skip their classes, drawing salaries without fulfilling their duties.
This total collapse of the local public education system leaves students with no choice but to pursue education outside the region. However, moving to major cities for higher education incurs an enormous financial burden, including steep tuition fees and living expenses. For the impoverished families of Turbat, these costs are unaffordable. Poor parents are left in despair, wondering how to fund their children’s future when there are no local professional opportunities or functional institutions.
Education is our only path to progress, yet we are being deprived of this fundamental right due to administrative negligence. The Government of Balochistan and the Higher Education Department must take strict action against absent staff, upgrade college facilities in Makran, and save the future of our youth.
