KARACHI:
I often wonder why we notice so many problems around us but choose not to do anything about them. From ignoring littering and traffic violations to watching public facilities being damaged, civic apathy has gradually become part of everyday life. Many people feel that their individual actions will not make a difference, while others simply follow what everyone around them is doing.
When people see others ignoring rules, they may feel less motivated to act responsibly themselves. Over time, small acts of carelessness can become normal. Civic responsibility begins with small actions. Following rules, keeping public spaces clean, speaking up when something is wrong and encouraging others to do the same can create a meaningful difference.
