KARACHI:
With the evolution of technology, print media is losing its readers. The main reason is not lack of interest, but the shift towards digital media. Besides this, there are many other reasons. In this era, daily newspapers have become expensive and unaffordable for many people. Moreover, the same newspaper is now easily available on smartphones free of cost.
Nowadays, newspapers are rarely seen except in government offices, bureaucrats’ houses or with CSS/PMS aspirants and people who are deeply fond of reading. However, print media should not be allowed to become entirely extinct. It is the oldest form of communication in history and still plays an important role as it provides verified news with verified sources. I believe that to survive, print media must adapt to the new challenges of the digital age.
