Water shortages, poor sanitation, sewage pollution, overcrowding and improper waste disposal have become common in the urban centres of the country, putting public health at risk. These problems lead to spread of diseases such as diarrhoea, dysentery, cholera, typhoid and polio. Karachi, Lahore and other major cities face growing pressure on their water, sanitation and healthcare systems. The government needs to give greater attention to urban health by ensuring clean drinking water, proper sanitation, regular waste collection and better healthcare facilities. At the same time, citizens must keep their surroundings clean and avoid practices that increase pollution. Timely action can prevent diseases and provide people with a cleaner and healthier environment.
